Luanne "NuNu" Thompson, age 57, of Muscle Shoals, was relieved of all her pain and suffering and sickness as she went to her heavenly home Dec. 29, 2010.
The funeral service will be at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, Friday, Dec. 31, with visitation noon-2 p.m. and the service following at 2 p.m., burial will be following the service at Shoals Memorial Gardens, Tuscumbia. Frank Holt is officiating.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lathan and Ruth Williams; her parents, Gene and Raynell Crump; and her father-in-law, Odell Thompson.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Bill Thompson; her son, Heath Thompson and wife, Nichole; and her daughter, Heather and husband, Chris Garner; grandchildren, Stormy Thompson, Billy Wayne Thompson II, Abigail Garner and Sullivan Garner, all of Muscle Shoals.
Pallbearers will be Will Andrews, Stuart Clark, Brent Collins, Jason Simmons, Clayton Wood and Gabe Wood, all friends of the family and loved by Luanne dearly.
Luanne graduated at Deshler High School in 1971 and finished nursing school in 1975 at Northwest Community College; she was a small business owner and a gifted artist.
She played the piano and loved all types of music.
She loved her family more than her self and always put her family and friends first before herself her entire life.
She was a lifelong member of Tuscumbia Church of Christ, where she married Bill in 1972. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved nothing more than spending time with her family and taking them to dinner and to Disney World.
She loved her friends and they were like her sisters.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude or DHR children. It broke her heart to see so many children sick and hungry.
