Industrialist. As head of Tyson Foods, Inc. he built the family business into one of the world's largest food manufacturers. He became President of the Arkansas-based company in 1966, and CEO and Chairman upon the death of his father John Tyson in 1967. In the early 1980s he helped McDonald's develop the Chicken McNugget, and within a decade Tyson Foods was supplying 82 of the top 100 fast food chains. Tyson withdrew from daily operations in 1995, but continued to provide guidance as Senior Chairman until his retirement in 2001. He was active as a philanthropist through the Tyson Family Foundation, and an avid fisherman. His personal philosophy was expressed in the quotes "No Bad Days" and "I don't have time to have a bad time".
