Eliza was a daughter of John Thomas (1892-1960) and Viola Victoria [Pyles] Partlow of Columbus, Bartholomew Co., IN. He mother, Viola (Pyles) Partlow is also buried here.

Eliza Elizabeth Purtlebaugh, 83, of Central Avenue died at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

She was a homemaker and attended Hope Community Church.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed & Jewell Chapel, on 25th Street, with the Rev. George Henderson officiating. Calling will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Mrs. Purtlebaugh was born in Columbus April 19, 1917, the daughter of John and Viola Pugh Partlow. She married the Rev. Homer Purtlebaugh in Columbus in 1934. He died April 11, 1985.

Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Rutan of Columbus; sons Ronald E. and Arthur L. Purtlebaugh, both of Columbus, and Donald L. Purtlebaugh of Taylorsville; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Eddy Purtlebaugh, and a brother, Sherman Partlow.
