Plymouth Carl L. Bickford 89 died April 19, 2003 at a Pittsfield hospital following a long illness. He was born in Pittsfield May 12, 1913 the son of Smith and Cynthia (Farnham) Bickford. He was educated in Pittsfield and Plymouth schools. He was a graduate of Plymouth High School. Carl was a WW II Army veteran. Carl married Ruth Clark in Bangor on Aug. 4, 1934. For several years he was employed at Singer Sewing Co in Boston. He also worked on local farms in the Plymouth area and on road construction. For many years he was employed as a foreman in the parts shop at Cianbro Co. in Pittsfield. He liked to be out doors.
Carl was the last survivor of 7 boy and 3 girls.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years Ruth C. Bickford of Plymouth and several nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by close friends Gene Grover and Frank Page.
Burial will be in the family lot Sawyer Cemetery Plymouth. (Brown Funeral Home on-line)
