U.S. Congressman. While engaging in agricultural pursuits, he studied law, was admitted to the bar and commenced to practice law in Henderson, New York. In 1829, he was elected as an Anti-Jacksonian to the Twenty-first Congress, serving until 1831. After leaving Congress, he resumed to his agricultural pursuits until his death.
