Married – Oct. 18, 1883, By the Rev. G.M. Spencer, at the residence of the bride's brother, Miss Jennie Forrest of this city, and Dr. Bachman, of Wet Bend.

Both of the contracting parties are well known here and hosts of their friends will join with the Reporter in sincere congratulations on their happy union. Mr. and Mrs. Bachman departed for Spirit Lake Thursday ev'g. The fair bride was the recipient of a large number of presents from her friends and the company were bounteously served with an elegant supper. Mrs. Bachman Dies This A.M. Was Long Ill
Had Lived in Estherville Since 1900 – Funeral on Friday Afternoon
Mrs. Jene [Jean] Bachman, 69, widow of Dr. E.W. Bachman died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.E. Stockdale at 12:15 a.m. today. Mrs. Bachman had been in failing health following an injury a year ago and her passing was not unexpected but none the less sad to her family and friends.

Born on May 6, 1864 [per gravestone 1865], at Baraboo, Wis., Jene Forrest came to Iowa with her mother and two brothers in 1871, and located on a homestead near Whittemore. She received her education in the Emmetsburg high school and later taught in Palo Alto county. On Oct. 18, 1833 [1883] she was married to Dr. E.W. Bachman. They lived at West Bend until 1900 when the family moved to Estherville.

Surviving Mrs. Bachman's passing are two daughters, Mrs. Stockdale of Estherville, Mrs. C.E. Ladd of Minneapolis; also her two brothers Charles Forrest of Tyndal, S.D., and Joseph Forrest of Washington state.

Funeral services will be held from the Stockdale home at three o'clock Friday afternoon with Rev. A.G. Bailey in charge. Interment will be made in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Bachman was unusually active in the social life of Estherville. She was a member of the local P.E.O. chapter at the time of her passing and was a member of the Woman's club until her health became poor. She was a communicant of Grace Episcopal church. In former years Mrs. Bachman had been a member of North Star chapter Eastern Star, but was not affiliated with that group at the time of her death.

Mrs. Bachman was an artist of considerable talent, cultured and refined, always identified with the better and most worthwhile movements of the community. Her passing is deeply mourned by a wide circle of friends. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, November 2, 1933)

Funeral services for Mrs. E.W. Bachman, 69, will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the J.E. Stockdale home. The Rev. Arthur G. Bailey will be in charge of the service.

Mrs. Bachman died at the Stockdale home at 12:15 a.m. today after a lingering illness. She has lived in Estherville for 33 years.

Jene Forrest Bachman was born in Baraboo, Wis., May 6, 1865. She came to Iowa in 1871, taking up a homestead near Whittemore with her mother and two brothers. She received her education in the Emmetsburg schools and taught school in Palo Alto county.

On Oct. 18, 1883 she was married to Dr. E.W. Bachman. They lived at West Bend until 1900 when they moved to Estherville. Since the death of her husband, nine years ago, Mrs. Bachman has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. J.E. Stockdale.

Two daughters, Mrs. C.E. Ladd of Minneapolis and Mrs. J.E. Stockdale, and two brothers, Charles Forrest of Tyndal, S.D. and Joseph Forrest of Washington state survive. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 2, 1933)

Mrs. Jene Bachman passed away Wednesday night at midnight at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed Stockdale. She has been ill almost a year and was in the Coleman hospital for a while this summer. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Ladd of Minneapolis and Mrs. Ed Stockdale of this city. Her husband, Dr. E.W. Bachman preceded her in death some ten years ago.

Jene Forrest Bachman was born in Baraboo, Wis., May 6, 1864. The family moved to Iowa and she received her education in the Emmetsburg schools. On October 18, 1883, she was married to Dr. E.W. Bachman. They made their home in West Bend until 1900 when they moved to Estherville. Since the death of her husband she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ed Stockdale.

The funeral services were held Friday at the Stockdale home. Rev. A. G. Bailey was in charge. Mrs. John Greig and Mrs. N.H. McKerral sang two duets. Members of the P.E.O. attended the funeral in a body. Mrs. Bachman leaves a host of friends as was shown by the beautiful floral offerings.
