Andrew became known for his talent as an engraver and left a legacy of intricately-carved powder horns from the Revolutionary War era. One of Andrew's works of art is preserved at the Maine State Museum, others are held at the Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. He settled in South China (Abbott's Corner) in 1775 at the age of 28, farmed and ran a sawmill on what is now Jones Brook. There is no record of his marriage, but he had a daughter, Abigail, who married Moses Bassett. Andrew died in 1832 at 85 and is buried in Clark Cemetery.
