Son of William and Mary Biere Grimsley. He lived most of his life in the Keytesville area except from 1980 until 1996 when he resided in Marshall. He married Nina Cunningham Smith on June 2, 1979, in Marceline.
Mr. Grimsley was an over the road truck driver for 21 years working the past seven years for the Eidson and Ussery Trucking Company. He was a deputy sheriff in Chariton County for a number of years. Mr. Grimsley was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Virginia Thornsberry.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, November 2, 1996 at 10:00 a.m. at Asbury Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Roger Sullivan, Tom Enderle, J.C. Jones, Wallace Enyeart, Danny Enyeart, Dewayne Biggs.
