My great-grandmother. Elizabeth was the 8th of 12 children, 11 of whom lived to adulthood. On March 31, 1905, she married George Crapo (also the 8th of 11 to live to adulthood). They had 6 children, of whom my grandpa Fred was the youngest. After George died of pneumonia, Elizabeth and the children survived via washing clothes, trapping muskrats, and various other odd jobs. She survived her husband by 44 years.
