Perry W. "Bill" DeSha, 62 of Waldo, Florida, died of heart complications on Wednesday February 25, 2009 at Shands at University of Florida. Bill was born in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Gainesville High School in 1964 and served his country in the United States Marine Corp for 6 years. Bill worked for the State of Florida as a communications technician and later as a Computer Systems Analyst for a total of 35 years of public service through the Division of Emergency Management and the Division of Forestry. Bill most recently spent his time volunteering his talents as a video technician and a self proclaimed "Web-Servant" for his Lord and the Orange Heights Baptist Church. He was a dedicated husband, father and friend to all who knew him. Bill followed in his father's footsteps as a compassionate and solid member of his community. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Becky DeSha and two daughters, Heather DeSha of Waldo, Florida, and Holly DeSha of St. Petersburg, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie A. DeSha and Reba H. DeSha of Waldo, Florida. There will be a viewing starting at 1:30 PM on Sunday March 1, 2009 up until the 2:00 PM service time, at The Orange Heights Baptist Church 16700 NE State Road 26 Hawthorne, Fl. 32640. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in his name to his church.
