William L. Wian, 74, of Youngwood, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born March 7, 1935, in New Stanton, a son of the late Timothy L. Wian and the late Ruth Hoak Wian. He served in the Army from 1957 to 1959. He was a member of A&B Club and the VFW 211, both of Youngwood. He retired as a draftsman from Robertshaw Controls-New Stanton after 40 years. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Doris J. Wian; three daughters, Rhonda Wilkins and her husband, Wes, of Scottdale, Tracy Wian, of Lake Mary, Fla., and Jeanne Bacco and her husband, Don, of Belle Vernon; six grandchildren, Justin Wilkins, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Derrick Wilkins and his wife, Kala, of England, Tiffany Wilkins, of Scottdale, Nicholas Myers, of Krum, Texas, Kevin Schryer, of Lake Mary, Fla., and Joseph Bacco, of Belle Vernon; great-grandchildren, Annabelle and Gideon Wilkins, of England; two brothers, Robert Wian and his wife, Evelyn, of Florida, and Donald Wian and his wife, Wendy, of Greensburg. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Wian.
