Nellie A. Moorehead, the daughter of Seth H. and Kate F. (Goodman) Demaray,
was born on Nov. 7, 1904 at Alexandria. She died on Oct. 30,1999 at her home in
Brighton, Colo. at the age of 94.
She had lived in Brighton, Colo. since 1969. Prior to her move to Brighton, she
had lived in Boise Valley, Idaho for,19 years. She was a member of Easter Star
OPHEL # 415 in Belleville, Kan. She was a grade school teacher and also worked
on the family farm. Nellie enjoyed reading, crocheting and history. She was a
charter member of the Denver Historical Society.
She also enjoyed traveling and had been to Europe. She was baptized into the
Christian Church in 1969. She enjoyed her grandchildren and always made herself
present in their lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one son and husband
Ray C. Moorehead on March 13, 1969.
She is survived by two daughters, Madlyn Blitch of Brighton, Colo. and Arlene
Baker of Sherwood, Ore.; one sister Jennie Thille of Tigard, Ore.; six grandchildren,
eight great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at the Christian Church of Broom-
field, Colo. Further funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov:5, at 2 p.m. from
the Presbyterian Church in Alexandria with Rev. William Thornton officiating.
Music is "Rock Of Ages" and "In The Garden" which is being sung by Laura A.
Storovich. Jean Pletcner is the organist.
Casket bearers are Marvin Kerwood, Raymond Kerwood, Lee Spilker, Roger
Walls, Scott Kinzie and Mark Kinzie.
Interment will be in the Alexandria Public Cemetery at Alexandria.
Price Funeral Home of Hebron was in charge of arrangements.
