Mitchell Countian Buried Thursday
Colorado City, Jan. 21, ~~Last Rites were said at the Payne Chapel Baptist Church Thursday afternoon for Mrs. E. R. Venus, 47, wife of a well known Seven Wells farmer and member of a pioneer Mitchell County family.
Mrs. Venus died late Tuesday.
The Rev. J.C. Koen, pastor of the Buford Baptist Church and the Rev. G.W. Parks, pastor of the Roscoe Baptist Church officiating and burial was in the Colorado City Cemetery with Kiker and Son directing.
Mrs. Venus was born Sadie Elizabeth Tiller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Tiller in Eastland County April 27, 1896.
She had been a resident of Mitchell county for the past 38 years and was married to Mr. Venus at Colorado City on October 6, 1912.
Her parents, her husband and four children survive her. Her daughters are, Mrs. W.A. Lindsey, Colorado City, Nellie Mae and Ernestine Venus of Seven Wells. Her only son, H. W. Venus who is in training with the U.S. Army at Kingman.
