Represented Guilford in the legislature of 1888, Chairman of commitee of Finance, Senator in 1890, Since 1884 was Director of Peoples National Bank. Married to Ellen Hunt,(March 23,1864),three sons,Fred Lyman, Charles Alvah, and Willie,(died in infancy), and then married Lila Boyd,(August 2,1898), no children
