Age 19 years. New Orleans Police Cadet Harrell was killed in the line of duty near police headquarters, shot by Mark Essex. Essex one week later was an active sniper on the Howard Johnson's roof on Loyola Ave. In total, Essex killed nine people, including five officers and wounded twelve others.
