'Last rites for Mrs. C.F. Cather, a well-known and highly respected pioneer lady of this community, were conducted Thursday afternoon at the Grace Episcopal church (sic), by Bishop Beecher of Hastings, an old friend of the Cather family. Mrs. Cather who was 81 years of age, passed on Monday, at Pasadena, California, her remains arriving in this city on Thursday morning.
The church was filled with sorrowing friends, which gave mute testimony to the love in which she was held. All her children were here, with the exception of Miss Willa, who on account of poor boat and train connections from her summer home on Grand Manan island (sic), off the coast of West Brunswick, was was (sic) unable to attend the funeral. – Red Cloud Advertiser.'
