ROSE MARIE SEERY, 97
OXFORD - Rose Marie (LaVallee) Seery, 97, formerly of 6 Barton St., retired owner of an auto school, and a Gold Star Mother, died Thursday in Providence House Nursing Home of Millbury after an illness.
Her husband, Edward J. Seery, died in 1980. She leaves a daughter, Marjorie Vincent of Palmer; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was a Gold Star Mother. She was born in Manville, R.I., daughter of Hector N. and Caroline (Christian) LaVallee, and lived many years in Brookfield and Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1982. She moved to Millbury in 1994.
Mrs. Seery owned and operated the Massachusetts Auto School here for 15 years, retiring in 1964. She was a member of St. Roch's Church and Oxford Post 5663, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was a former member and past state president of the Cootiettes in Worcester, an affiliate of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was a former 32-year member of St. Mary's Church in Brookfield.
The funeral will be held Tuesday from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Roch's Church, 334 Main St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
