Jerome Averill died Friday, Oct 29, 1898 at his residence. His parents were early pioneers of Persia where the family resided upon a farm in Broadway. He was a soldier and lost his arm. He has long been in feeble health and received a pension of 86 dollars per month. Some years ago the family moved from a farm in Dayton to the house long occupied by Hiram Palmer (site of Frontier Publishing). He leaves a wife and three sons and number of grand children. The members of the G.A.R. had charge of the funeral while was from the house Monday afternoon. Rev. E.J. Fisher officiating.
