He married Nancy Adeline Owens on June 7, 1872 in Baldwin County, Alabama and they had Hillard H Pierce, William Edward Pierce, Cornelia Pierce, and Georgianna Pierce. Nancy died around 1901 or so and he re-married to Sarah Kate Wilson around 1902 or 1903 in Washington County, Alabama. They had two sons Jerry Pierce, Jr and Roosevelt (Tobe) Pierce.
