Information below indicates that Jonathan is not buried in Connecticut.
Death notice, Norwich Courier (Norwich, Conn.), iss. 11 Feb. 1835, p. [3], "In Stratton, Vt., on the 12th day of December, 1834, Jonathan Morse, Esq., aged 87 years. He was formerly of the town of Woodstock, Ct."; Vermont Vital Records Card Index, cem. card, d. 14 Jan. 1835, bur. Smead Cem., Wardsboro, Vt., age 84y.
So Jonathan died in Stratton, Vt., on either 12 Dec. 1834 or 14 Jan. 1835 and buried in the Smead Cem., Wardsboro, Vt. We need to find a local newspaper in Vermont that would settle the dates.
Any reader of this memorial who can provide evidence clarifying these dates and places is asked to please forward that evidence to the current owner of this memorial.
