William Howell Davis was the son of Confederate President Jefferson Davis and Varina Howell Davis; died of diptheria at age 11. He was originally buried in Memphis, but was reinterred in the family plot at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia, in 1893. The year of death is inscribed incorrectly on his grave marker. A contemporary obituary shows the death occurred in 1872.
