Jerome Massay, 71, of 333 Raley Ave., Carrollton, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home last Thursday evening. Mr. Massay, who taught in Carrollton schools for 34 years and in Malvern school from 1932 to 1942, retired in 1970. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree at Muskingum College and his Master's Degree at the University of Pittsburgh. He was a member of Carrollton Church of Christ, Carrollton Rotary Club, Augusta Lodge No. 504 F & AM, Malvern Knights of Pythias and local and state teachers' associations.

Mr. Massay was born in Fox Township September 9, 1901, a son of the late Ira and Nora (Guess) Massay. He was married April 15, 1931, to Martha Roudebush, who survives. Other survivors includes two sons, David of Vancouver, Washington, and Joe of Baltimore, Maryland; one daughter, Mrs. R. A. (Joan) Dennis of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Howard Massay of Rt. 7, Carrollton; a sister, Mrs. Edna Hendricks of Carrollton, and nine grandchildren. A brother, George, preceded him in death.

Services were Monday in the Allmon-Dugger Funeral Home here with Rev. Arthur Helsley of Malvern and Rev. John Lyons of Carrollton officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery, Carrollton.
