NEW MARTINSVILLE, W.Va. — Esther June Carroll, 84, of Summerfield, Ohio, died Monday (Aug. 13, 2001) at Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Woodsfield, Ohio.
She was born Dec. 2, 1916, in Smithfield, daughter of the late N.L. and Millie Anne (Higgins) Hayhurst.

Mrs. Carroll retired from Viking Glass Co.
She attended the Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank W. Carroll; a son, Winfred Carroll; three brothers, Harry, Fairfield and Ray Hayhurst; six sisters, Janie Tucker, Carrie Tucker, Myrtle Wines, Lena Duncan, Margaret Flanagan and Genevieve Carroll.

She leaves three daughters, Rosemary Yuncker of Summerfield, Ohio, Mrs. Berdell (Helen) Fisher of Lewisville, Ohio, and Mrs. Fred (Dorothy) Adams of Grandblanc, Mich.; a sister, Edith Durby of Clarksburg; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Grisell Funeral Home, Ratcliffe Chapel, New Martinsville, with services to follow at 1 p.m.
Burial will be in Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City.
