John Starkweather was my GGGG Grandfather, and the father of William Starkweather, the first settler of Plymouth (1825), MI, where I grew up. John is also the father of Erastus Wolcott Starkweather, my GGGG uncle, who came to Michigan with his younger brother, William, in 1825, and settled in Northville, MI (at that time part of Plymouth).
He was the husband of Hannah (Leonard) Starkweather, married May 25, 1780. They had 11 Children.

John Starkweather fought in the Battle of Bunker Hill with Capt. Nathan Peters regiment in Boston in 1775, and was a well respected man in the town of Preston, CT.

John was also the Great Grandson of John Starkweather, who died in 1703, and was the Original Starkweather who moved from Ipswich, MA to Preston CT in or before 1694, and was the GG grandson of Robert Starkweather who came to Boston in 1641 from England and (to my knowledge) was the first Starkweather from England who settled in North America in Roxbury, MA (now part of Boston).
