Rose M. Nuzzo Paolini, 88, of Syracuse, passed away on Ash Wednesday, March 9, 2011, in the arms of her beloved Savior. She was the daughter of Antonio and Jennie Nuzzo, a life resident of Syracuse and a former communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Church. Rose was a fantastic cook and loved holiday celebrations, especially those with her husband's help. She loved taking care of her home and garden and singing. Rose was the family caregiver. She was a dedicated mother, and her passion was her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Alphonse J. Paolini, in 1992; her daughter, Anna Marie Tejera, in 2000; her grandson, Patrick F. "Brubby" Michel, in 2010; her sisters, Irene Ferlenda, Philomenia "Fanny" Lipari and Margaret Gabriel; and her brothers, Thomas and Louis Nuzzo. Survivng are her three daughters, Valerie R. Paolini Smith, Joanne P. Paolini Flood, both of Syracuse, and Jennie M. Flood of Clay; her brother, Joseph Nuzzo of Syracuse; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services: 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, at Butler-Badman Funeral Home, Inc., 4504 W. Seneca Tnpk., and 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Interment: St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
