U.S. Congressman. He graduated from Central Teachers College in 1929, from the University of Oklahoma, in 1930 and was superintendent of several Oklahoma school districts, until 1933. In 1933, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-third Congress and to the next four succeeding Congresses, serving until 1943. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he was employed by the Department of the Interior, (1943-45), assistant to the Secretary of Agriculture (1946-47) and the hearing examiner at the Department of Agriculture (1947-68). Retiring from politics, he engaged in real estate management until his death.
