Services for Mrs. Gene "Ruth" Yancy, 73, of 1114Santa Clara will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home with burial in Staley Cemetery. Jack Kirby is to officiate.

Mrs. Yancy died at 7:05 p.m. Monday in the Brownwood Community Hospital following a long illness.

She was born June 21, 1906 in Brown County and was a housewife and member of the Church of Christ. She married Elgene "Gene" L. Yancy at Coleman July 17, 1936.

Survivors include her husband, three sons: Gene Anderson of Long Beach, CA, Wayland Yancy of Lafayette, LA and Gary Yancy of Lubbock, two daughters, Mrs. Glenda Roberts of Houston, Mrs. Patricia Worley of Fort Worth, two brothers - George Andrews of Brownwood and Urban Andrews of Austin: four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Anderson and Mrs. Jo Carson, both of Brownwood, Mrs. Frank Evans of Blanket and Mrs. Lillian Ezra of May and six grandchildren.
