Duane C. "Slim" Nyswonger, 68, of Ottawa, IL, passed away on August 27, 2002, at his home. Formerly of Plano, IL. He was born on August 8, 1934 to the late Alfred & Esther Nyswonger in Ames, IA. He worked for 20 years at the Plano Farmers Grain.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Carrie Brooks of Aurora, IL. Natalie (Mark Miller) Benitez, whom he considered his daughter. His grandson, Zachary Tolliver of Aurora, IL. Mitchel Benitez, whom he considered his grandson, of Ottawa, IL. His brother-in-law, Virgil Hyte of Plano, IL. Several aunts and uncles.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Stanley.
Memorial Services will be held at the Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St., Sandwich, IL, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, with a memorial visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Cremation to take place at River Hills Memorial Cemetery in Batavia, IL. Memorials may be directed to the family.
*** Duane used to work with my father, August Seidelman of Oswego IL and he was known by many friends and family members as "High Pockets". Duane you will be missed by your family and friends.
