Dr. Simons, a native Matagorda Countian, was born on Jan. 10, 1906 into a "family" of doctors, and registered his medical diploma here in 1929. He practiced with Dr. J. A. Loos before establishing his clinic.

Dr. Simons was active in civic and community affairs, and the Simons home at 3104 Avenue I was the scene of the annual tea for the Rice Festival Queen candidates, scheduled also for the 1962 event. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
