Born in Smithsburg, he was a son of J. Edgar and Emma E. Burns Burgesser. He was a graduate of Smithsburg High School and had been employed by Western Electric Co., retiring in 1951. He was a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Smithsburg, the Fraternal Order of Elks, No. 378 of Hagerstown; and Bell Telephone Pioneers of America.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lora J. McCafferty Burgesser; and two brothers,C. Lester Burgesser of Boonsboro and Lloyd Burgesser of Baltimore.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. The Rev. William L. Dreikorn will officiate.
Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
