1804-John was probably born in Russell County, Virginia.
1824-Jan 17, Married Elizabeth McClary, daughter of Robert McClary of Allen County, Kentucky
1824-Nov. 23, Frederick Brown, a neighbor, bought 100 acres from James Bell in Sumner County, TN for $400. p. 105 of Sumner County deed book.  Deed of bargain and sale from James Bell to Frederick Brown for one hundred acres of land was duly proved in open court by the oath of John Brown and Squire Brown subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be registered in 1826. This Frederick Brown is of a different Brown DNA Group and is not related to the Dance Brown line.
1832-John bought 100 acres in Allen county, KY from his father-in-law.
1832, Sep 13 - John signed as a security in court for his brother, Squire in the murder case in Sumner County, TN. - securities for Squire to make appearance in court = Squire Brown, Dance Brown, John Brown, Taylor G. Gilliam, Stephen R. Gilliam, James G. Webb, Wm. B. Gilliam, Hardy Culwell, Jonathan Davis, Elijah Butler, and Thomas White.
1838-Thought to be John's death date.
1870-Dance Brown's estate settlement - mentions John's heirs (plural) payable to Anglea Guardian. I think he was taking care of John's children and these children were the source of the word "heirs"... not that John had more than one child. This may have been Walthall Walter Anglea and Mary Robertson, as John's son, Robert Sidney married Sarah Elizabeth Anglea, Walthall and Mary's daughter in 1854.
