US Congressman. He moved to Missouri, in 1870, attended a business college in Sedalia, then moved to Chandler, Oklahoma, in 1891, where he engaged in agricultural pursuits and the insurance business. He was a member of the board of regents of the University of Oklahoma, (1893-94), a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1900 and clerk of Lincoln County, (1912-20). In 1921, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-seventh Congress, serving until 1923. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed agricultural pursuits until his death at age 76.
