MILLINOCKET- Gertrude Arefretta (Anderson) York, wife of the late Darrah York, went home to be with the Lord and her family, Friday, November 23, 2007. She was born March 21, 1914 in Caribou the daughter of Simon and Grace (Little) Anderson. Gertrude was a member of Calvary Temple in East Millinocket. She enjoyed attending church and singing hymns.
She is survived by her children, Dolores Stewart and her husband Charles, where she made her home for the last four years, of Millinocket, Darrah and Dotty York of Cromwell, Connecticut, Gerald and Ronald York, both of Millinocket and Melvin Arthur York and his wife Susan of Zephyrhills, FL; grandchildren, Jamey and Elise, Terri and Christopher, Philip and Aimee, Glen and his fiancé Joy, Michael and Michelle, Scott and Luz, Trina, Richard, Donna and Mary; great grandchildren, Amanda, Travis, Josh, Tessa, Dale, Joey, Charles, Scott, Coby, Chelsea, Kacy, Macy, Michael, Ashley, Andrea, Wayne, Tina and Mitchell; great great grandchildren, Zachary and Taylor Jean; brothers and sisters, Chester Anderson of Deland, Florida, Elizabeth Tibbitts and Gilbert Anderson, both of Millinocket, Ethel Nutting of Perham, Merrill Anderson of Caribou, Simon Anderson of North Berwick and Zelda Wilcox of Westbrook.

In addition to her parents and her husband Darrah, who died March 12, 1981, she was predeceased by a son Galen; grandsons, Gene and Gary Stewart and Thomas York; brothers and sisters, Earl, Ernest, Levercie, Lulu and Marietta.
