US Congressman. Born in Plumstead, Pennsylvania, he graduated from the Pennsylvania Medical College in 1833 and opened a medical practice in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. In 1855, he was elected as an Opposition Party candidate to the Thirty-fourth Congress and served until 1857. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of medicine until his death at age 62 in Quakertown, Pennsylvania.
