CORNWELL Carol Ann (Ward) Cornwell, age 70, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Mount Carmel East. She was born in Columbus on October 3, 1940, to the late Charles Eugene and Erma Mildred Ward, and was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School. Carol worked for many years in food service, retiring as manager from Columbus Public Schools and Salesians Boys and Girls Club. She was a member of Christ the King Church, and she loved being outside and spending time by the river. Above all, Carol was dedicated to her family, which extended beyond her immediate relatives to include their families and friends as well. She opened her home and heart to everyone and was a mom, grandma, or aunt to everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart, William Robert Cornwell, who was born the same day and hour as Carol and passed away just one month before her. Carol is survived by her children, Charles (Cindy), Jim (Kristina), John (Schiquita), and Rob (Deann) Cornwell; sister, Linda (Mike) Rosenbaum; grandchildren, Charles, Paul, Theresa, Melissa, Christopher, Matthew, Kyle, Samantha, Joshua, Brendin, Brittany, Justice, Jonathon, Brooklynn, Jaelynn, and Braelynn; and six great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Christ the King Church, 2777 E. Livingston Ave. Fr. Craig Eilerman, Celebrant.
