US Congressman. Born in Vincent, Kentucky, he attended Berea College, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1915 and commenced practice in London, Kentucky. He was in the Signal Corps, US Army, with service in the Philippine Islands and Alaska, (1907-15). During World War I, he served in Company D, 315th Field Signal Battalion, 19th Division, in France. In 1933, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-third Congress, serving until 1935. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he resumed the practice of law until his death at age 53 in London, Kentucky.
