He completed a BS in Geology at Grand Valley State University, Allendale, Michigan in 1995 and a Master of Science Degree in Economic Geology at the University of Arizona in 1997. He received scholarships and awards at both universities. He was hired by BHP Copper as geologist, had bought a home, and was engaged. John was a geologist at the beginning of his career when he was killed in an auto accident. He was a bright geologist, a fine person, full of promise, and his friends miss him still.
