L.E. "Bo" Nance III, 61, died peacefully Monday morning, December 26, 2005, in a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at Robertson Mueller Harper. The Rev. Lawrence M. Hammond will officiate. Following committal services at 4 p.m. Thursday, Bo will be laid to rest with family members in Rose Hill Burial Park, Oklahoma City. His family will receive friends immediately following services at the grave. Mr. Nance's family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, friends may honor his memory by making contributions to the Vacation Kidney Center of the Rockies, Snow Mountain Ranch, P.O. Box 169, Winter Park, Colorado. 80482.
A native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, L.E. "Bo" Nance III was born January 27, 1944, the son of L.E. "Gene" and Fan Louise Looney Nance, who preceded him in death. He attended Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma City and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1966. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and Alpha Epsilon Rho Honorary Broadcasting Fraternity. Bo was the news director for WKY Radio in Oklahoma City and was a TV news and sports anchor for WKY-TV Channel 4 in Oklahoma City. He was also president of the Oklahoma Associated Press Broadcasters Association. Bo also was in the drilling fluids business for several years owning his own company. He moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area 12 years ago. He was involved in the corporate security business in both Oklahoma and Texas and retired in 2001. A resident of Fort Worth, Texas, Mr. Nance attended University Christian Church. His family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Thomas Dewar for his loving care and concern.
Survivors: The love of his life, his wife, Caroline; son and daughter-in-law, Len and Liz Nance, all of Fort Worth; daughter and son-in-law, J.J. and Tommy Annesley of Norman, Oklahoma; the mother of his children, Barbara Nance of Oklahoma City, Okla; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Bob Coleman of Memphis, Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law, Camille and John Holmes of Memphis, Tennessee; his pride and joy, seven grandchildren, Blake and Katie Nance, Jackson Annesley, Caroline and Carter Coleman and Henry and David Holmes; and many loving relatives and friends.
