Voice Actor. He was a comedian-voice actor, best remembered best for his longtime role as the wisecracking Dr. Gamble on the NBC Radio show "Fibber McGee and Molly", from 1943 to 1959. By the late 1930s, he relocated to Hollywood where he worked voice-over for the Warner Brothers' animation unit. There, he was noted for his character voice on such cartoons as Elmer Fudd, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig. Some of his film credits included "Road to Singapore" (1940), "South of the Boudoir" (1940), "The Devil Bat" (1940) and the Bugs Bunny short "Wabbit Twouble" (1941). For television, he appeared on the "Ozzie and Harriet Show", "Handyman", "Professional Father" and was a panelist on the TV show "Quizzing the News" (1948-49). He died of a heart attack at age 60.
