Journalist. A pioneering female photojournalist, she gained recognition with photo-essays in the "Confederate Veteran" in 1896 and "Illustrated American", the first photojournalism magazine in the United States, in 1897. Her later commissions included works for "Collier's", "Harper's Weekly", and her most famous photo-essay, "Where Southern Memories Cluster", in "Ladies' Home Journal" in 1906.
