US Congressman. He graduated from the law department of the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis in 1929, was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced to practice law in South St. Paul, Minnesota. He was city attorney of South St. Paul, (1933-34) and a delegate to the Democratic National Conventions, in the 1930s. In 1935, he elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-fourth, Seventy-fifth and Seventy-sixth Congresses, serving until 1941. During World War II, he served as a Major in the Judge Advocate General’s Department, US Army, (1942-45). After the war, he resumed the practice of law and died in an automobile accident near Somerset, Wisconsin, at age 50.
