She is supposed to have dated Henry (Harry)Carroll Farrand before he married her younger sister, Blanche Ogden Nixon. Harry chose to marry Blanche and they had eight children. Florence became 'Auntie Bo' to the children even after their mother died and Harry eventually married Florence as his second wife when she was about 50 years old. Florence had quite an interest in genealogy and collected much information about Ogden, Haines, and Bloomfield ancestors in New Jersey. Her father was the Rev. Mr. George Nixon (1834 - 1910) and her mother was Mary Isabella Deacon (1840 - 1937) who were married Oct. 9, 1867 in Kingston, Canada. The Rev. George Nixon was a son of John Macauley Nixon (1805 - 1869) and Elizabeth Ogden Haines (1804 - 1889)
