Mrs. Luella Gowen died quite suddenly in the Anna Jacques Hospital at Newburyport on Wednesday afternoon.
She was out last week in her usual health and on Tuesday went to the hospital for an operation for appendicitis.
The sad news was received in town, and caused much sadness among the many friends of the young lady and her husband, William W. Gowen.
The local undertaker went to Newburyport and conveyed the remains to this place.
She was much beloved by all who knew her.
The floral display excelled anything here for some time; there were 51 pieces in all.
Interment in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
