Jane Thornton was the daughter of James Thornton and his wife Nancy Smith. She was the aunt of Dr. Matthew Thornton, delegate to the Continental Congress from the State of New Hampshire, and a Signer of the Declaration of Independence. Jane Thornton married Thomas Little in the year of 1716 at the town of Knockans, Finvoy Parish, County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
