U.S. Congressman. Educated at Bucknell University, he studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1870 and commenced to practice law in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania and was chairman of the Democratic State convention in 1905. Moving to New Jersey, he was one of the founders of Wildwood, first Mayor of the City of Wildwood, (1911-12) and a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1912. In 1913, he was elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-third Congress, serving until 1915. After leaving Congress, he resumed the practice of law and was in real estate activities until his death at age 72. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
