Grandpa came first to the US with his brother-in-law in 1910 and stayed with his sister and her family to find a place his family could live. He only had $20 in his pocket at the time. He then returned to Holland to bring his wife and their 6 children to American and a new life. Grandpa was a tailor in Brooklyn, NY. Then the family moved to Point Pleasant Beach, NJ where Grandpa opened his own tailor shop. This is where their last 3 children were born. I cannot believe what bravery that took!
Those who remained behind and were still living when WWII began were murdered in the Holocaust.
CAUSE OF DEATH: MI (Heart attack)
Thank you so much to SSBJ for fixing my grandpa's photo and putting the frame around it!
