◦A Colorado Miner, George was convicted of larceny. Alexander evidently came to his rescue, resigning his Wilmette Postmaster post and traveling to Colorado "for his health". 6-5-1880-George visits Wilmette-Evanston Index-"George McDaneil, formerly of Wilmette, is here on a visit from Cinncinati."
3-12-1881-Family returns to Wilmette with daughter- Evanston Index- "Mr. and Mrs. George McDaniels have returned from Cincinnati after a year and a half's absence, the climate of the city not agreeing with the health of either. They are accompanied with a little daughter, stranger to Wilmette, two months of age. They will occupy the same house they formerly occupied."

Some tarry at home while others wander in search of rest and recreation. Among the latter are Mr. and Mrs. A. McDaniel, who will spend a few weeks in Colorado."
