Murder Victim. He was the only son of comedian Bill Cosby and his wife, Camille. Born the middle child of five, his as well as his sisters' names all begin with the letter E: Erika, Erinn, Ensa and Evin. His father stated the "E" stood for excellence. After being diagnosed with dyslexia in 1988, he was determined to help others with similar learning problems after his graduation from Atlanta's Morehouse College in 1992. The night of his murder, he was going to visit a friend. While driving his car, he had to stop alongside the San Diego Freeway at the Mulholland exit to repair a flat tire. After replacing the spare tire on his car, he was apparently replacing lug nuts when he was fatally shot by an 18-year-old Mikhail "Michael" Markhasev. Later, Markhasev would be apprehended in March, being charged with first-degree murder and attempted robbery. Markhasev was convicted and sentenced to life in prison. In February of 2001, Markhasev would finally confess to the murder while in prison serving his sentence, withdrawing the rest of his appeals. At the time of his death, Cosby had earned a Master's Degree in Education and was pursuing a doctorate at Columbia University.
