James Edward Brogdon of Jonesboro, was born June 19, 1942, at Hayti, Mo., and died Saturday, May 14, 2011, at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was 68 years, 10 month and 15 days of age.

He was a loving son, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A member of the First United Methodist Church in Altus, Oklahoma and a member of the Altus V.F.W.

He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Air Force and enjoyed woodworking, fishing and talking about fishing.

He was preceded in death by his father Benjamin "B.F." Franklin Brogdon and his wife, Terry Brogdon.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Genevieve Brogdon of Hayti; his children: Lisa Combs Anglin of Franklin, Tennessee, Monica Jean and her husband Brian of Los Alamos, New Mexico, David Brogdon and his wife Crystal of Paragould, Arkansas, Matthew Brogdon and his wife Maria of San Diego, California and Nikki Brogdon of Altus, Oklahoma;

his grandchildren: Baily and Jacob Anglin, Will, Patrick and Benjamin Jean, Ann Marie and Jagger Brogdon, Sydney Sexton, Olivia, Mina and Taine Brogdon,

one great grandson: Jayden Brogdon,

two brothers: Jerry Brogdon and his wife Julie of Mobley, Missouri, Terry Brogdon and his wife Debbie of Clinton, Tennessee and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti, MO. Burial was at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of services.
