Roman Catholic Saint. The Roman Emperor Diocletian martyred Saint Cessianus when he was eight years old. Pope Gregory XVI presented the remains to Bishop Mathias Loras, who brought the body to the United States in 1838. On November 23, 1986 the remains were installed in the main altar of Saint Raphael's Cathedral.
